Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.

Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.
Jim Rohn

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice.
Wayne Dyer

We are the creative force of our life, and through our own decisions rather than our conditions, if we carefully learn to do certain things, we can accomplish those goals.
Stephen Covey

Don't just read the easy stuff. You may be entertained by it, but you will never grow from it.

Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better.

Why talented people demand higher salaries than those who are not?

In today’s age most people are being required to make several changes during their working life. It is predicted by Charles Handy, Professor of Economics, that in the generation to come it will  be usual for someone to have between 5 and 7 completely separate careers.

This means that not only  we must adapt to change, but also do it comfortably and confidently against the continuous need of new information and  learning new skills.

Intellectually talented people demand higher salaries than those who are not.

Then,

As the economy in the world shifts, people who are appropriately educated will tend to do best and the society will pay more for such skills.

In this ever-changing world, uncertainty and job insecurity, the only thing that is certain is uncertainty itself.

In almost all occupations knowledge is doubling every 2-3 years meaning that someone who is fully qualified in the year 2006 might find their qualifications inadequate by the year 2009.

Appropriate education will be increasingly biased towards the incorporation of Accelerated Learning Techniques, which will provide the core skills necessary to succeed and grow in the years to come.

The most important aspect of learning is being proficient in how to learn. Once you can master this ability, no new project, language or situation will again overwhelm you.

And once you possess the basic techniques then, like riding a bicycle, they will be with you forever.

I will start a special blog about Learning Systems where we can share together the Accelerated Learning Techniques.

Rule 5 Self Education is a journey not a destination

Self-education, whether it's about business or anything else, is a never-ending process.

There's never a point where you'll say,"Okay, I have finished - no more learning for me.
.
Every new concept, idea or even a little piece of information, you know, learn and apply , you come across a gateway to a plenty of other opportunities waiting for you.
.
We are responsible for setting, planning and achieving our goals even if we sometimes need another party ( Person, University, Educational center,....) to help us along the way.
.
There are many opportunities waiting us but they are hiding behind knowledge and skills that we don't have right now.

Rule 4 New Age Needs New Knowledge and Skills

It took 6000 years for man to move from the agriculture age to the industrial age in 1915,Then it was till 1950s to 1960s to move to the service age where more people around the world was delivering services than those employed in manufacturing,AT the late 1970s, It was the start of the information age till the early 21th century where we are now in the communication age.

According to studies, Information capacity doubles every 18 month and drops in cost into half the price,

So If your knowledge is not increasing it's actually decreasing .

Add to that globalization and shifting of markets to the free market where the survival is for the best.

The knowledge content and skills you have will determine the value that you can provide.
.
Commitment to continuous self development is the key for security in this changing market place.
As the market change you are ready for it.

Rule 3 You Learn What You Care About

Who had the experience of being forced to learn something he had absolutely no interest in?
All of us had.

How many of us didn't like sending e-mails, ironing our clothes, buying some stuff, changing our car tires and many other examples and we usually depend on others to do such silly activities.

But later on we start to use the computer, iron our clothes, buy our stuff alone, changing car tiers and so on....

The main reason for this action is that we care about the importance of depending on ourselves to finish this tasks when we are in need to......

The same applies for self-education. When it comes to learning, you will always learn and retain information concerning subjects you care about.

If you care, you will learn.

The best reason to learn something is not because someone else says it's important, however it's because you need to know it, to do something you care about.

Necessity is the mother of all invention - and the same for learning.

Rule 2 You Can Do It Yourself

You are already doing many things perfectly without taking courses.
On the other hand how many years we spend in school, university and training centers and now we don't remember.
The point is that we do what we believe we can do.
These are the steps that we usually go through :
1-We try enough times.
2-Learn from our mistakes.
3-Persist enough time.
4- We succeed.
We are here....................................Steps................................We are there.
Sure, you'll make a few mistakes along the way - everyone does. The important distinction is that, instead of doing meaningless homework told by others, you're actively building your ownself or improving your career.
Finally, I want you to remember this:
"A man becomes what he think most of the time"

Rule 1 : You Don't Need Permission

No body has the authority to hold you back if you want to improve yourself,

You can give the permission (attitude) to yourself to start developing your knowledge and skills.

Nobody, school, or even university can teach you anything without your willing to accept it.

Security should come from inside ( Knowldge and Skills ) not from outside ( Certificates ).

No one knows what you want better than you.

Do what you want to do not what others want you to do.

Learning without appling is not learning.

All the best,

Ayman Amin

Every one can personaly develop himself

Yes everyone can do it, But the question is who is willing to ?

And then there are many areas where we can all improve our knowledge, skills and when combined it with attitude, The result is a habit.

Attitude + Knowledge + Skill = Habit

Attitude is you want to do
Knowledge is what to do
Skill is how to do it

This habit(s) that we can develop will be reflected on our personal development in the way to set and achieve our goals.

Now I want to share your experience which does come first ?
Attitude, Knowledge and skills or goals ?
And why in your point of view ?
